The proof is
in the products
PIAD alloys can be cast to form high-quality parts with specifications calling for mechanical strength, corrosion resistance and wear resistance. The photos below show examples of parts cast for various applications. These parts are produced in various quantities ranging up to several thousand.
Group 1 includes three fabricated multi-part components that are paired with their single-piece permanent-mold replacements. The railroad ramp control part (extreme upper left) originally consisted of five steel parts welded together. Next to it is the lighter-weight casting replacement. This resulted in a 50% savings to the customer.

Group 2 contains a few examples of cast-in parts, including threaded steel inserts.

Group 3 consists of four castings whose main requirement was high mechanical strength.

Group 4 shows parts with as-cast internal and external gear teeth, which require extremely high wear resistance. The curved gear is a section of a 28-inch-diameter ring gear.

Group 5 illustrates items requiring pressure-tightness.

Group 6 consists of five parts used in electrical switchgear assemblies. These parts... cast of pure copper for superior conductivity... represent a unique PIAD capability.

Group 7 consists of marine hardware and other parts with high resistance to salt water and other corrosive elements.
