Our engineering design service makes the customer's job easier... and less costly As in all manufacturing processes, permanent-mold casting has certain requirements for best results. PIAD offers an engineering design service to help customers achieve better results. This service provides the benefit of more than 50 years accumulated application experience.

The engineering design service can help you determine the best casting design for your application. For example, PIAD designers can take your present multipart component and make it as a single casting, saving you the expense of assembly operations... yet the casting typically weighs less and performs better than the part it replaces.

Our engineering and design service can improve your product through re-design for permanent-mold casting in a wide variety of ways, including such techniques as cast-in "foreign" parts (pins, springs, sleeves and helicoils). The Applications Page on this website illustrates a few of the many possibilities.

We encourage customers to take advantage of our engineering and design service. This service enables them to utilize fully the opportunities inherent in the PIAD permanent mold, chill-casting process.

Complex and intricate parts can be cast as one piece to replace multipart fabricated components. When necessary, consumable cores such as the one shown below are used.
