Permanent mold-making is a science... and an art

Toolmaker

(Above)
All machining operations in the die shop can be performed on the hardest, most heat-resistant, high-alloy die steels.

(Right)
The die shop has the latest machine tools to accurately produce complex molds. Tolerances such as ±.005 inch are common.

Precision castings require precision tooling. Molds must be designed and built to withstand repeated thermal cycling and still maintain their dimensions and surface finish.

In the PIAD die shop, diemakers... working with the most modern machine tools... produce the molds required for high-quality cast parts.

This is accomplished through a unique mold design and a careful selection of mold materials to withstand severe demands. Working with heat-resistant die alloys, craftsmen  combine application-oriented design

experience with advanced die-making techniques so that castings meet required specifications. Molds are designed so that molten alloy flows into all the mold cavities under gravity pressure. This casting method creates a part that is free of piping, sink holes or voids... a sound, dense and durable casting, which lowers the cost of your product.

The unique mold design provides a precision tool at a moderate investment, with a one-time mold charge. This is a big factor in making the PIAD process economically feasible... even with relatively low quantities.
