Alloy selection

PIAD offers a wide variety of alloys with properties for diverse applications. The properties which can be designed to your requirements are strength, wear resistance, corrosion resistance (including resistance to many chemical agents), weldability, brazability, thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity, and non-sparking characteristics.

We can provide these properties in the form of a near-net-shape chill casting with no (or only minimal) secondary operations. This often means an attractive, economical alternative.

All PIAD alloys are produced from virgin metals. This guarantees a level of purity far superior to commercial copper-base alloys. The company possesses the metallurgical expertise to provide copper-base alloys tailored to the specific application and need of its customers.

The alloy tables on this website cover the major available alloys and the ranges of major mechanical and physical values. The various alloys are identified with PIAD's own designations rather than ASTM number because some ASTM alloys are not suitable for precision chill casting. Many special alloys which were developed for specific customer applications are not shown but are available upon request.
